About

With a sound that fuses folk’s intimate honesty, blues’ smoky soul, rock’s unfiltered passion, and pop’s undeniable hooks, Robert creates music that feels like a familiar embrace yet surprises at every turn.  His songs don’t just play; they speak, drawing listeners into stories woven with poetic lyricism and heartfelt sincerity.  Whether crafting a melodic groove with effortless strumming or igniting a stage with soaring, distinctively impassioned vocals, his artistry leaves an imprint on every soul who listens.

With an EP and debut album laden with Robert’s prodigious song craft, his artistic odyssey has garnered many accolades and admiration from the music industry, including an Australian Songwriters Award for the song ‘Different Road’.  A song personally inspired by Robert’s vision impairment, yet it is fun, empowering and universally resonant.

Sharing stages with the likes of Kate Ceberano, Lisa Mitchell, Kim Churchill and James Reyne, Robert has built a reputation as a magnetic live performer. His ability to captivate an audience, whether in an intimate acoustic set or fronting his electrifying band, has earned him recognition far beyond his roots.   His sound has been likened to the poetic introspection of Counting Crows, yet remains distinctly his own—a seamless blend of nostalgia and fresh authenticity.

In 2023, Robert and his band triumphed in Australia’s largest live, original music showcase ‘Passport to Airlie’ by winning the Cairns regional final catapulting them onto the national stage at the ‘Airlie Beach Festival of Music’, where they shared the main stage with icons like Ian Moss, The Superjesus, King Stingray, and Dragon.  Other festival performances include ’Savannah in the Round’, ‘Woodford Folk Festival’s - Festival of Small Halls’, Cairns Festival, Tablelands Folk Festival, and Riverfest.

From festival stages to radio waves, from the quiet corners of songwriting retreats to the roar of national competitions, Robert Cini continues to carve a musical path uniquely his own. Each song he writes is a chapter, each performance a new journey.  With guitar in hand, voice lifted in song, Robert reminds us all of the power of music to heal, to inspire, and to transcend.
